CAS Department’s Kingpin

Effects rippling from the COVID 19 emergency include the preparation of the event of the Council of Liberal Arts and Sciences Students, the search for MR., and MS. CAS 2021. The major event will be pushed through live via Facebook page of Council of Liberal Arts and Sciences Students on September 24, 2021, with an expected eleven participants both male and female from different degree programs.

Cebu Normal University's College of Arts and Sciences will hold its annual Mr. and Ms. CAS competition for the academic year 2021-2022. This year, Mr. and Ms. CAS will perform a production number, walk the runway, wear evening gowns and formal wear, give an advocacy speech, and participate in the event's highlight, the question and answer session. There will be a virtual Mr. and Ms. CAS as a result of the pandemic. Candidates are expected to film their production number and runway rampa, which will be shown during the Facebook live event. The question and answer session, on the other hand, will take place virtually.

“Mr. and Ms. CAS is one of the most difficult department events to pull off in terms of preparations because it requires ample time to gather participants and prepare the possible recorded videos because we are in a virtual setup”, said John Peter D. Apuhin, Class Governor, in an interview.

Backlogs will not deter the council, which is preparing and doing everything possible to ensure winners are made to feel like victors. Mr. and Ms. CAS 2021 will be crowned with plaques, sashes, and certificates. The main goal of this event, according to Class Governor Apuhin, is to celebrate the council's mantra, veritas et pulchritudo, or the truth and beauty of each liberal. The essence of liberal wisdom is putting the validity of truth into perspective and demonstrating its truthfulness, and beauty represents that we are not only beautiful on the outside but also on the inside.
